A piece millions of years in the making! I've loved fossils for a long time and when I found these I couldn't help but dream up a design for them..This highly polished fossilized Orthoceras, or 'straight horn', is a relative of the nautilus and modern day octopi and squid. This fossil is from a water creature with a straight long shaped shell, that lived in the seas about 400 million years ago during the Devonian Period.
I've strung this pendant on rich, rustic brown leather featuring a slip knot clasp to make this quite adjustable in length. Each piece is unique and different since no two fossils are exactly the same. The fossils are all unique but about 2.5" long. The necklace is adjustable with two sliding knot closures.
